It's been scorching hot in Korea nowadays. Nobody might want to be outside for any second in this searingly hot weather; many Korean people prefer to stay in big malls rather than do outdoor activities in summer.
The day before yesterday, we, my girlfriend & I visited a huge mall called IFC in Yeouido, one of the most famous shopping malls in this country. It's located near Yeouido station, line 5, and it took us about ten minutes on foot out of exit 3. However, I found today that exit 3 in the station was directly connected to the mall though moving sidewalk, which means you don't have to go outside to get to IFC mall. We didn't know that. How important information is! If you'd like to get there like us, you'll see this structure in front of IFC mall after a few minutes' walk.
Plus, Yeouido is a big business district, so we very easily saw many people passing by us in business styles. But, we in casual styles were on vacation, heading for the mall. I even wore training shorts. I was feeling like that we were living in this area though we came from a distant city :)
This shopping mall has various kinds of brands such as uniqlo, h&m, zara, and other global brands in section L1 & L2 as well as a wide variety of restaurants in L3. We didn't have high expectation of it before entering the mall since we just thought that it was almost same as other shopping malls we've been to. But it's not true. IFC mall has an exotic atmosphere as if we were in a high-end department store, not to mention quite cool air. You can check more information at www.ifcmallseoul.com.
Shopping around a number of stores, I finally found a chic black dress in H&M while she was trying on some clothes in a fitting room. It apparently turned out that the dress looked nice on her, so I pleasantly bought it for her :) There're lots of attractive places in Yeouido: Han River, Yeouido Park, 63 building, the National Assembly building, and so on. IFC mall among them will be the most appropriate place for shopping and help you to cool down in this hot weather.
In short, we'll go to IFC mall again. There're still many food chain we'd like to try!
